The aim of this activity is to use a simple printing method to create pop art self-portraits.

To introduce sculpture as an art form available to everyone, whilst developing trust between participants.

This activity is a good introduction to graffiti projects by suggesting that people have used symbols, signs and ‘tags’ to represent their name for thousands of years. By the end of the session people will have created a hieroglyphic version of their name.

This is a fast activity that gives effective instant results. It needs little preparation so is great for use in detached or residential settings. As it is cheap to do the young people can do lots, experimenting with colours and patterns before displaying them all together.

This activity encourages young people to explore the concept of expressing their emotions through music
and art.

This activity is an introduction to mosaic. If the young people are really interested in developing the method further, the process remains the same but they can graduate on to using glass, ceramics or stones in larger projects. Good ranges of little glass tiles are available from most DIY stores.
